LAUREL - Five women sat in a row in the grass next to the chain link fence that surrounds the Howard Industries plant in Laurel, talking quietly in Spanish.

While soft-spoken, the women were determined to get what they came for.

They were among 75 men, women and children led by the Mississippi Immigrants' Rights Alliance that gathered Friday outside Howard Industries to protest not receiving checks owed to their relatives detained in Jena, La.

Howard Industries made national headlines Monday when Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents raided its operations in Laurel and Ellisville and detained 595 suspected illegal workers.

Many of the 100 detainees eligible for "alternative detention" - house arrest with ankle monitors - attended Friday's protest and said they had a right to the money they had earned working at the plant.

"Our only crime was to come here to work," one woman who wore an ankle monitor said through a translator. She refused to be identified.

"We are begging the owner to have a heart. We have to feed our children and pay our bills. All we want is what we earned."
************
I worked there for three years," said one woman through a translator. "Then they threw us away like old, rusty iron."

Hmm . . . let's see: you've been here ILLEGALLY for 3 years, you still need a translator; you think that you should not be arrested because you delusionally think you've only committed a single crime because

You then have the nerve to show up and demand a paycheck when in all likelihood you committed an additional crime, (more precisely a felony) by using a stolen or a fraudulent SSN.

Does that mean that she thinks the ankle bracelet she's wearing is a fashion statement

Lord Jesus, get these crazy people outta here . . . . .the insanity increases and continues . . . .

Perhaps the people of MS need to start orgainizing a Mississippi Citizens Rights Alliance? Or would that be considered racist and xenophobic?

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people are ignoring this invasion out of fear of being called xenophobic and racist. IMHO, it's long past time to wake up those who are still sleeping and setting a date to declare our defiance of another amnesty being passed and our support of continued raids, deportations and the arrest and prosecution of those who employ, aid and abet illegal aliens.

JDubsmom makes yet another good point. She illustrates perfectly the mind set of all illegals.
They are entitled to special treatment regardless of the laws they have broken.
How did they get any pay checks without a 1099?
How did they file their taxes without a valid 1099?
How did they have a 1099 and no SSN?
So for 3 years they didn't pay taxes?
Or for three years committed fraud.
Or for three years used someone elses ID.
For three years they have been nothing but criminals. Yes we owe them a bus trip back to where they came from. By the way that final check should be confiscated and used to help pay for the deportation.
Threw them away?? LOL No fired them is more like what happened. Listen law breakers this is the reward you have earned for the many laws you knowingly violated. This is the reward for lowballing wages. This is your reward for cheating. Its the reward you actually earned.

Notice how none of them are sorry for violating Americas laws. They just think that America awes them a living. And no, they dont have to pay you a cent. When you started working there, you created a "Contract" so to speak. Fraud invalidates any contract. So you get NOTHING!

ELO rocks. The time album is my favorite... LOL
Illegals like all criminals only tend to regret the act of getting caught...
They don't regret the victims of their crimes.
They don't regret cheating the system.
They don't regret the laws they have broken.
They don't regret putting others out of work.
They do regret when they are not given special treatment or consideration.
Pro-illegals.
They don't care as much about their fellow americans who loose their jobs to illegals as they do for illegals who get caught. Oh yes they say illegals only do jobs americans won't do. Like that factory in Missisippi?
Pro-illegals don't feel that its possible that illegalscould have gotten a legal Visa had they only applied for one. They ignore the fact that millions of immigrants have been issued a visa after applying for one.
Pro-illegalsfeel our immigration laws are unfair. This inspite of the fact that ours are in fact mild compared to most other countries.
Pro-illegals say we can not live without illegal labor. say that to those who were unemployed by illegals lowballing wages. Say it to their faces....
Pro-illegals say that Illegals don't cost our nation billions in resourses, social services etc. Themagic immigration toothfairy gave us that money I guess.
pro-illegals say that anyone who believes immigration laws should be enforced are racists and xenophobes. Why can't anti-illegals simply be folks who believe in law and order?
No as far as I am concerned those pay checks should be used to help pay for the deportation of these criminals. Haven't they cost us enough already?

I call it codependency. I do think the companies should pay the wages due.

The Company should be paying out fines not wages.

Granted, I'm no lawyer, but that seems like an incorrect assessment of our criminal code. Where it's not a crime to come here to work, it is a crime to breach our border, commit tax fraud, identity theft, etc., and please note : working here without legal authorization is a crime. Sorry lady, "the only crime" is an understatement in itself, as there's more than one crime you and your ilk are committing.

I've heard this propaganda before, "the only crime . .", which is especially grating when it comes from an illegal alien with a mortgage (a mortgage to an illegal alien could only be obtained via fraud and/or conspiracy to commit fraud by a mortgage broker). Really, you have to wonder if these types of illegal aliens are deranged. Have they been telling these lies so long they actually believe them?
