When will it end? Are we expected to the benefactor for the entire world? Should every country experiencing hardships be permitted to dump their citizens on the taxpayers of the U.S., and subsequently granted amnesty?
Quote:
Speaking at the Council for Foreign Relations, Uribe called on the United States to provide amnesty to immigrants working honestly in the country and to improve living standards through free trade in countries that are a source of migrant workers.
"The free trade agreement is one of the ways we need for investors to come to our country, to provide our people with opportunity and the more people find our opportunities in our country, the less they will want to flee the country," Uribe said.

It has been claimed that the job loss that resulted from NAFTA is the reason for millions of poverty stricken illegals from SOB invading us. Yet I keep reading articles claiming NAFTA is a success for Mexico. Apparently somebody SOB is benefitting from NAFTA, yet all we are getting is a net gain of the bottom of Mexico's cesspool and net loss in jobs and sovereignty.
How can the welfare crowd in this country honestly NOT work?
As they say --- two wrongs don't make a right. Perhaps if there were more jobs available at living wages once the illegals have been deported the 'welfare crowd' will no longer have an excuse not to work.

Agreed. If you recall, one of the strongest "selling points" of the NAFTA agreement was that it would reduce the illegal alien invasion. I still remember Bill Clinton and members of both sides of the aisle on tv saying NAFTA would reduce and all but eliminate the illegal alien invasion. Gee more lies from our government. And remember NAFTA was supposed to end this illegal invasion after the 1986 amnesty was supposed to end it as well.
Of COURSE NAFTA would reduce illegal immigration....making ANYTHING illegal suddenly "OK" means it's no longer illegal! Get it? If we suddenly made STEALING legal, then we'd have DRAMATICALLY fewer thieves....right?
Besides, if NAFTA ever really gets 'up and running' and our economy begins to 'free float' with that of Mexico (and points south), there will be far less reason for anybody to WANT to come here, legally or NOT.

That is too chilling for comfort----------especially your second paragraph.
