there is no difference. BP is an international conglomeration, who is going to set rules on BP now on who they hire to clean the oil spill, whether it be on land or sea.

Again BP can hire any company it likes to do the clean-up...foreign or domestic. BP is not an American Company, and is not based in a any State of the US. Who is going to check if every employee BP or a subsidiary of BP has illegal aliens and how do they do that?

BP, in theory, could go to mexico and hire workers to come do the work here on US soil, are those workers illegal? No different if BP hired a Bolivian firm to do the clean up, and the firm hired Chineese contract workers; are the workers illegal to Bolivia or the US?

Mexican companies that have branches in the US, have Mexican managers, are they illegal? Toyota has Japanese managers and executives based here at US plants, anr they breaking US laws?

Sure they do, but to enter the US they must have a visa, passport or work permit.

passport, anybody can get a passport.

Most visa catagories are for US based companies hirirng foriegn workers...BP is not US based.

Work permit, good question, but since BP is not a US company, how stringent would the Feds be?

Let me look into this one...

My point is that with so many american citizens out of work and many more NOW because they cant use the gulf we shouldnt sit back and watch thousands of people who arent even suppose to be in the USA make money on the clean up. If they are HERE on our soil working THEY DONT NEED TO BE UNDOCUMENTED......It would be another slap in the face to our laws. Lets be sure that these workers have some friggin valid ID

Watchng the news, BP has hired locals to do part of the clean up. Local fisherman have been hired to troll the waters in the attempt to clean up the spill entering the local waters although they have been grounded for a few days now. BP is still paying them even though they are "sitting" at the docks.

There is a post on ALIPAC.com Americans Legal Immigration PAC. Join ALIPAC & Americans Legal Immigration PAC ALIPAC, which I can't link, that some illegals have been hired there at $360 per day. They initially came for the Katrina cleanup and some became fishermen.
