He doesn't have a political philosophy at all. Blago is only concerned with his own glory (and wealth). To people like him, party affiliation is an artifact of where they started out and says nothing about what they do (and don't) believe.

Actually, I believe that the law creating the tollway authority stated it was to be disbanded after all costs of building the original expressways were recouped and after a certain number of years. As much as Ryan is a rat, at least he attempted to do the legal thing(at least in this case)! Blago was in charge when the tolls were supposed to be disbanded. Someone should look more deeply into this-I think his actions/inactions on this issue were illegal and unconstituional also.

Tollways were supposed to be free by 1984. Too much money involved, too many people on the board who are well connected.

And too many downstate legislators who don't want to see a statewide gas tax hike to make up the difference, even as their interstates are heavily subsidized by that same gas tax paid primarily by upstaters.

Not here. When he first got in office and cleaned house I actually thought to myself "holy crap, is this a Dem with a brain?". Nope, wrong again.

Your bad! You should know better.

A certain college Republican on campus here says that it was Ryan's decision to implement ORT. I guess the idea behind maintaining such a theory is that Blago cannot be credited for anything. That's not true, at least the campus newspaper says that he has been VERY creative with this year's budget approval.
