Being Illinois and C(r)ook County, I wonder what kind of campaign contributions or other goodies the politicians receive from Corporations they "do right by"?
I mean, isn't that the "Chicago" and thus the Illinois way?

I don't begin to understand corporate taxes, but I suspect in IL a big part of the cost for large companies like ADM and CAT are real estate taxes, ComEd and Ameren. At one time CAT probably paid taxes on 50+ square miles in Tazewell County. This does not take into account the corporate office, the proving ground, or the Mossville plant in Peoria county. ADM has a Peoria plant and x number of silos on the river that use megawatts of power. They have other facilities and plants in Illinois too. This is different than maintaining a 10 acre property as part of the rent.
