Ran across this proposed law maybe coming to Illinois. Rep. Kenneth Dunkin wants to require firearm owners to get $1,000,000 in liability insurance or risk losing their FOID cards forever. Remember without the FOID card you become a felon in they catch you. I also heard that they might just conficate your firearms if you don't comply.

Proposed Bill $1 Million Gun Ins. Pol. Illinois

Yes already know about this. We are members of the NRA and the Illinois state rifle association. this state is draconian with their gun laws. We are members of a sportsmans club and they recommended both these organizations. The govt in this state and on the federal level are seriously ramping up their anti-gun efforts. Seems like weekly they come up with something new. You really gotta keep up on these things they try and slip through. Unbelievable. So if your guns get stolen, you are liable. Nice...

I moved to Missouri from Illinois, so imagine my surprise when I went to buy a handgun...

No ID that you have to wait 6 months for?
No 3+ day waiting period to be approved?
Really?

That's right. Law abiding 24 year old who wants to protect his home and family, so I got a gun. Went in a store, bought one with an instant FBI background check.

I guess a bill that would have required all private firearm sale transactions to go through a licensed dealer failed to move through house today. That is a good thing!

We do not need the heavy, corrupt hand of IL gov't knowing about priviate firearm sales between citizens.
