Hello,

My family is moving to Indiana this summer as I start a job in Lafayette. I'm looking at homes in the area, but was also looking at Zionsville, in case my wife finds a job in Indy. What sort of commute could I expect from Zionsville to Lafayette (office on 65 just southeast of Lafayette). Thanks for your help.

Well no matter where you live in Zionsville, the commute will be roughly an hour (you may save 10 minutes if you move into the Anson development off 65). And I suppose if your job will be SE of Lafayette off of 65, then it may go down to 45 minutes. 65 was recently expanded, up to Lebanon, so that helps too.

By the way, Zionsville is a significantly better place to live, so keep that in mind.

Thanks for the response. Is most of that time because of the distance, or because of the traffic? I'd imagine not too much traffic heading away from the city in the morning.

Correct, mostly distance, although there is a fairly large amount of truck traffic on 65 heading up toward Chicago from Indianapolis.
