Sorry, DG, but this is an example of how many Domers have a glorified view of where their program is today.

I don't have a glorified view of anything lately. I've been knocked too dizzy seeing the wheels come off the program and no one in charge capable of tightening the lug nuts.

well, the rumor mill is churning ...

meyer
Stoops
Kelly

I vote Stoops.

And with Clausen getting punched in the eye ... well, they may as well have punched him right into the NFL ... he's done.

And Charlie was supposed to stay on the west coast to recruit after the Stanford game, but Swarbrick told him to come home. Guess that seals it then eh?? And now the press, all press, have been frozen out of ND ...

thinking we'll be hearing a major announcement on Saturday night.

A lot of strange things going on including Swarbrick commuting back and forth between his Indy home and ND.

Stoops has had a very disappointing year at OKlahoma and it could get worse if the Okie AD leaves for Michigan.

Swarbrick will probably can Charlie before midnight if ND gets mauled at Palo Alto tonight. My pick for his successor is Brian Kelly and it's not just because he's Irish. The man knows how to coach college kids and teach them sound fundamentals like blocking, tackling, etc.

oh god ... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kelly's players beat someone to death ... it's a reflection of the kinds of players that kelly recruits. He will not be able to recruit for ND like he could with the other schools. ND WILL NOT take them and they aren't going to loosen their standards because of a small school coach with less than stellar student athletic standards.

Stoops. Yea, Oklahoma doesn't attract brainchildren either, but Stoops is a proven winner. Brian Kelly is still a baby in the coaching ranks. Kelly will be yet another 3 and out coach.

Domergurl, Don't get me wrong. I would be elated if Bob Stoops took the ND job but I doubt that he will.
