Polian had made some bad draft picks over the past several years. And are you forgetting how he pulled the starters in the third quarter against the Jets in 2009, costing the Colts a perfect 16-0 season? Polian said then that the goal was not perfection, but to win the Super Bowl. Guess what, they lost the Super Bowl.

And this year, Polian didn't have a backup in place when Peyton wasn't able to play. He signed Kerry Collins out of retirement, big mistake. And remember when he said that the Colts were interested in signing Farve?

Time for him to be gone. Good move, Irsay.

All of the above in addition to the way he handled the local media, his arrogance and also the perceived friction between him and Manning (regarding his injury situation) in the media did not help him at all. There were several times this year that things would get leaked out by the Polians about Manning in the media that clearly pissed Manning off.

I think Irsay is right, Polian is a first ballet hall of famer, no question but it was time for him to go. And his son... well, he was just a puppet, a product of nepotism perhaps, nobody really knows what he really did to deserve that gig. I say good riddance. Just my $0.02 worth.

Here is a good article by the way: http://espn.go.com/blog/afcsouth/pos...out-the-future

Any guess on who the new lead coach will be?
I'm good with anyone so long as that backwater xenophobic, ignorant Dungy doesn't return.

Yeah, let's value a guy who had 6 winning seasons out of 17 over a perennial winner whose religious views may be objectionable to some. Great football sense.
