You win just by staying invested in diverse investments. Don't bet the farm on any one type of investment.
That's a given and has been posted thousands of times. If C-D posters don't know that by now, it's not from a lack of being informed.

Unfortunately, people are being fed political propaganda by “experts” telling them that the economy and the stock market are going to crash at any time.

If you repeat anything one thousand times, people will believe it wholeheartedly.

That is part of the poison I am talking about. People need to shut it off completely.

Very true. I stopped watching news on TV altogether and cut off my cable/satellite in 2010. When I want to know how the market is doing I look at the Dow/Nasdaq numbers. I can see the reports on Reuters or AP for major news. Life is much simpler and more straightforward that way.

For everyone who says we're going to crash there's another one who says the bull market is going to continue. For another year we're probably ok. 2020 election -- major wild card. I'm playing it safer than many people and if I give up a year of some gains -- so be it.

Believe in the bull.

Not BS.

I want a big crash and for it to stay low, if the S&P500 goes to 2100 or below and stays that way for a few years that would be terrific as I get to reduce my cost basis which is getting rather high now.

be careful what you wish for .... Adjusted for inflation, the stock market didn’t rise above its 1965 value until 1984 ,19 years later. Dividends moved sideways over 2 decades
