Nope. Back up again. Looks like we'll finish the day above it. Someone now needs to stat a "Dow can't get above 27,000" thread.

oh man, what a nice day today, all sectors up nicely... my portfolio is now at a new all time high eclipsing the high it reached on Oct last year. This may not last but it's good to have some all time highs thrown in to counter the brutal drops we have seen recently.

The DOW closed above 26,000 for the first time since November 8.

Nice.

If Feb so far has proven anything, it's that the stock market will go back up eventually.

also a reminder of why timing does not work and the best strategy is to stick with it for the long haul, I know people who posted on other forums that they bailed at the Dec lows because they thought it was the start of a huge leg down, OUCH!!!

But we only hear from the ones who claim to have bailed-out in September 2018, and who reentered the market around Christmas.

Hopefully, the market stays above this level.

But, realistically, there is often a pullback after such a huge run-up.

Wow that’s crazy. Mine is still below the October high, and much less than that if I subtract my contributions.

For example...the Contra fund. Right now it’s about where it was in October...of 2017. 2018 really is a lost year for many of my funds. But I am happy to see 26k today.

If you are talking about fidelity contra fund it was way up in 2017 to the tune of up 33% , only down a bit over 2% in 2018 and up 12% this year
