Now, we might be in for a longer term cycle. Economy is certain to fall off a cliff in the second quarter. Recession or depression? Consumer retail is likely to be really ugly.

Is it right to buy the dip if we are in for a long term economic slowdown?
Hell yeah, I'll buy the dip. 3 years from now we will be back to record highs, similar to 2009 meltdown. That was a 53% drop. This drop is just 27%. All it takes is a vaccine cure and BOOM!

So I will just enjoy this ride buying low for an extended period.

If I was old, I would be worried. But I'm rather young, so nah.

Down about $ 250,000 +- so far. I get a kick out of calling my son (AKA-Sole Heir) to tell him what a lousy day HE had in the market since I'll never live to spend it all anyway. Meanwhile, still getting my dividends. Picked up 1,000 shares of DOW, a nice 12%er. My appraisal business has doubled due to the low rates, cash flow is KING. Oh, and did I mention the best part of all ? L.A. traffic is FABulous!

I'm just watching from the sidelines and staying the course. I firmly believe that if the stock market can recover from the near collapse of the world financial system in a few short years, it will recover from this virus just as quick or quicker.

Yes, once a treatment and/or vaccine is announced, stocks could be up 40-50% in a day.

I don't think thats possible. For one, progress of a vaccine would leak out and happen gradually, so those gains would be spaced out. Vaccines take a long time to develop, and the market knows one will come someday. The market and the pandemic will already be recovered once a vaccine is announced. I think once new cases start declining, we will see the big jump.

The only concern I have is on the best investment options I have in this current market. I'm not panicking about my current positions at all as I'm young and know the market is bound to recover. We will get through this.
