Sheena12: I would rep you again but have to spread it around. Thank you once again for sharing.

I have written so many letters to my Iowa Republican officials/politicians about my disgust of their support of Trump (Steve King too) with casual dismissal of his “flaws” and to “move on.” Chuck Grassley wrote back to me that Trump is no longer President and is not relevant. This was 4 months ago.

Recently appointed Attorney General of Iowa, Brenna Bird, former Chief of Staff and senior legal advisor to former Iowa Congressman Steve King, who made disgusting racist remarks for many years, is endorsing and actively campaigning for Trump for the 2024 presidency.

I am sickened by the acceptance and normalization of Trump for the Presidency in 2024 with all we know about him and his open degradation of women. I would have never guessed in all my 67 years that a certain segment of Iowans/Americans would approve of such a despicable man to represent our country.

It is almost as baffling that Chuck Grassley is still in office. Having followed his newsletters and (to a lesser extent) his Twitter account for a while, I'm not surprised at his response.

Yep. A few years back, Chuck made a comment on Twitter that he doesn’t hear from Iowans complaining about Trump. That’s got me started in contacting him, and Joni Ernst too who made a similar comment.

Bill Clinton comes to mind in this regard, he loved being president and making speeches, had charisma, and the economy did well under his watch, so people forgave his personal flaws, the scandals slid off his back, the impeachment went nowhere and he carried on like nothing happened. Good for Bill, good for Donald.

Illegal immigration has become such a big problem that even most democrats can now admit Trump had the right policy to solve the problem, and I hope they will allow him to proceed on this matter without the obstruction of funding he had in his first term, should he win, and I think he will.

Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon both lost their first run for president, and so will Ron DeSantis, but I think he has a good chance to be president someday, I like him. Iowans are not real keen on this transgender/pornography stuff in the schools, it has not been reported yet, but the Perry school shooter was a LGBQ trans activist with mental problems, as is often the case amongst trans kids. Ron has worked hard to suppress that in Florida schools and his fights with Disney. He has the support of Governor Reynolds and many Iowans, If Ron became the nominee, Iowa will support him in a landslide against Joe Biden.

Not a thread about why you don’t like trump. However in 2016 trump did not do well in the Midwest. His domince was on the south nd northeast. Wondering what has changed. My initial thought was that farmers would never punt for him again but this was explained. My secondary thought was that republicans would like an alternative with a better chance at 8 years than 4. There are plenty of anti trump threads. That’s where diatribes belong.

^Confuses indictments with convictions. Words have meaning. Sometimes it helps to look them up.

Have you penned similar letters about Biden?

The one thing that's fascinating to me,

The topic of the thread is presumably someone who doesn't like trump and wants to know he's popular.

Ok, sounds good

Except, the entire premise is dishonest. People who like trump have given their answers why they like him and the left keeps attacking to invalidate our opinions. That's not the point of the thread.

One side simply cannot listen to the other. Don't you see? Why ask the question if you don't want to listen to what people have to say and instead attack them for their opinions.

No wonder this country is on a course for civil war. The left refuses to even respect opinions they disagree with.

What's fascinating is you still can't give an answer. Why do you like him over other Republicans? That's the question. Why is Trump popular over the other candidates? Be specific. I don't know much about the Republican candidates' specific views/issues and how they compare (no interest to me personally), but an informed Republican or Independent probably would. What makes you dislike the others?

I don't have to.

I don't have to justify my reasons for why I think the way that I do for you.

you obsessing over it is weird and just proves my point that this entire thread is bogus. The left isn't interested in "listening" to others different opinions they're only interested in being condescending and attempting to try to virtue signal that you can't possibly like trump because XYZ.

It must be really sad to look at life that way.

If I asked you why you liked an illegitimate, corrupt, non coherent president, and if you gave me your answers I wouldn't be rude enough to tell you that you're wrong I would just accept that it was your opinion. It's not my job or place to talk you out of what you believe or belittle you for it.
