I am self employed, bought a semi, hired a driver, tada my current job keeping all the paperwork done for my business.

Reasons I got each job I've had in the past:

1: Teacher was hiring any student in the department.
2: Friend worked at the store.
3: Self-employed freelancing.
4: Girlfriend worked at the store.
5: Friend worked at the company.
6: Friend offered to subcontract me.
7: Friend worked at the company.
8: Friend and friends' family had company ties.

Ad in Sunday paper, mailed my résumé on Monday, interviewed on Wednesday, hired on Thursday. It used to be easy to get a job.

Applied online then found LinkedIn connections that worked there and asked for a referral to the hiring manager.
Same with my previous job.

I faxed a resume to an ad in a newspaper. That was in 2005, Still with the company today thankfully.
