After leaving this site in 1923 he located at Lexington and River Blvd and then Lexington and Union streets.

Looks like there were two EB Dooleys, father and son, both grocers. Farther was proprietor of "well patronized grocery at 713 WL" Came to Independence from Illinois, 1882, first employed a a "stationery engineer" (Anyone know what that is?) Currently (at date of pub, approx 1920 I'm guessing) works for Hugh Matthew Machine Shops, KCMO. Wife Rose DOD 1919. buried at Woodlawn

Kids: EB Dooley. Lee. Harry. All in grocery business. May, living in family home 215 S Osage (other siblings)

Lee and Harry operated meat market on W side of Square in connection with a ""Foster Cash Grocery.

EBD first job was at FE Hall Meat Mkt, N. side of Square. Since self emplyed, present grocery and meat mkt is at 213 WL and it is "stocked with splendid line of eatables, staple and fancy groceries built up by a fine patronage"

Married to Hatey Luff, living at 124 Pendleton.

History of Jackson County, WZ Hickman.

Looks like it should be stationary engineer. Wikipedia says A stationary engineer, also called operating engineer or power engineer, is a professional who operates heavy machinery and equipment that provide heat, light, climate control and power. Stationary engineers are trained in many areas, including mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical, metallurgical, etc.

Hmmm yet you didn't deny "political"

Judging from the date, he was a Marxist/communist

Ok on second thought, wouldn't be a smart business decision, then or today

Neither would "Socialist" although eugene debs drew almost a million suckers in 1920

One of the other minor parties:

Farmer Labor

American party

"Single Tax"

or

(Drumm Roll pls!) PROHIBITION Party
