Use Tax for Individuals (including Estates and Trusts)
Kansas has a similar law. You owe sales and use tax on online purchases whether purchased from a retailer that has a presence in the state or not. The only difference is whether the retailer is responsible for collecting it.
Actually, if we don't keep track of what the total amount of purchases that we (citizens of KS) buy, we are required to pay when we file our state income tax based on our income. I live in the State of Kansas and am very familiar with what the requirements are here.
