Default Henderson overlooked?

I was wondering why Henderson, KY seems to be so overlooked on this forum. I've seen posts about nearly every other community in the state, many VERY near Henderson, and yet no mention of Henderson itself.

We are moving to Henderson soon and I was hoping to get some information about the town here. One person posted some informative stuff and I thank him!

From the times I've been there Henderson has seemed to be a great town, am I mistaken? I hope not, because that is where we are going!

I lived in Henderson from 1979 to 1991. Yes, that was 16 years ago, but it's still Henderson. Nice small town with close by city of Evansville to provide good TV, dining (some nice places in Henderson too), shopping, etc. Henderson is a farming community with some light to medium industry.

It's a political town with typical pettiness. I don't like that it has only one public high school, and is somewhat challenged with its transportation connections. Henderson to almost anywhere by road is ok, but forget air. Evansville used to have excellent DC-9 and MD-80 service, but now it's mostly served by regional jets and turbo-props feeding hubs such as St. Louis, Chicago, & Nashville. Not bad, just nothing direct.

If I had the choice to move back to Henderson would I? Yes, I would because for all its "haven't got that here", the place is full of good and decent people, and that makes all the difference.

That is great to hear. Nearly all our transportation is done by car anyway, it's just too expensive to buy airline tickets for the whole family even with gas prices over $3 a gallon driving is cheaper.

The town we live in is small with only one high school, so that isn't a problem for me.

I was just surprised that on a forum about Kentucky there weren't really any posts that really spoke about Henderson. I should be used to that though, since it's the same in Illinois... everyone hears "Illinois" and immediately thinks "Chicago".. but no.. there is a LOT more to Illinois than just Chicago.. just as there is a LOT more to Kentucky than Louisville and Lexington.
