Heading down to look at some housing and do a job interview this week/weekend. Saw a house in Hall/Gibbs area in the Emory Chase subdivision.

My question for those of you already there, is how is this neighborhood. Looking to rent at first until I make final decision on where I am going to be, so limited in my selection.

Thanks

It's very suburban. Herds of mini-vans, lots of kid activities.
There's quite a lot of development and construction going on at Emory Road exit off I-75. Brand new St. Mary's hospital complex there.

So it would be a good neighborhood to move into? No kids, off road Jeep, Harley, middle aged couple?

Halls is great, as is Gibbs, and as Kittie said, Powell is also nice, and then you got Norris also close. good luck.

Halls retains a bit more of the "old Knoxville" aesthetic and has a blue collar feel overall. Powell is "moving" towards west Knoxville (figuratively and literally), meaning increased strip malls, condos, and mini-vans.
