Tried to grow one at the house I moved to after I got married, no luck, never could get it to take. Too much sun I suspect.
Interesting. The lilac I took a pic of is facing east and is blocked by the afternoon sun.

As a transplant from AZ this is my first spring in the green. Let me tell you all that it happened so QUICK! Within a week or two BAM everything was blooming and the trees were green! Everything looks so beautiful and I'm honestly amazed how quick it was. Been lovely so far

This is my fifth spring and I am still amazed by it all. It's nice to see a newbie enjoy it for the first time, though. It's something that photos don't completely capture and words cannot adequately describe.

I think that's the secret. Talked to a girl in my studio from New England. She said that lilacs are one of the flowering shrubs of choice there. Maybe because they don't have crepe myrtles

Can anybody tell me what the name of the trees are that have white blooms right now? They're not Bradford pears or dogwoods.

There are some in front of West High School, and there are several in the median driving down Cherokee Boulevard. Clusters of smallish white flowers. tia

The trees are shaped something like this:

I had searched cherry trees previously and found blossoms with larger leaves.

Several of the pictures of the Yoshino cherry blossoms look like what I've seen. Maybe that's it.

SE Asia huh? Hey, I lived in Japan. If you had asked about Pinkish blossomed trees, I'd be like yeah, those are the Japanese cherry blossoms. There's more of those imported trees here in the USA than in Japan.

I love all of these Spring blossom trees. I think the white one's are Pear trees. I don't think they actually grow pears.
