HMMM, I always used to stay up all night then catch my flight home. Seemed to work well, then I would just sleep away the boring flight.

The first thing that comes to mind when I think of what not to do in LAs Vegas is this, "to think you can come here and break the law."

Agreed. More often than not, I'm working on no sleep on my flight out of Vegas.

We used to take a red eye flight back to Kansas City. There was a flight to Ontario, CA which left about the same time at a gate close to ours. Not once, but two different times, some drunk got on our KC flight instead of the Ontario one. (How they were able to board the wrong flight, I have no idea). Just to add the cherry on top, we arrived in KC about 5:00 a.m. and first flight back to west coast didn't leave until 7:30 or so. I kinda felt sorry for these clowns, but not very much.
