It was an awful world...and we could set off firewords! My gosh if we piled all those fireworks up in a big pile and let it off all at once we could put the west side of Las Vegas into orbit!
If you want to injure yourself doing something stupid, all power to you. go ahead and burn your own hand off or light your house on fire. Risk to oneself is fine if you want.

Illegal fireworks is not always self contained and that is the problem.

Someone lose their home to another person that used illegal fireworks. I have seen it happen. It is not funny and it not amusing, it is amazing that anyone on this forum makes light of the topic (such as "put west side of las vegas into orbit").

Someone further down the street using legal fireworks gets hit by illegal fireworks. I have seen it. Again, not funny, lifelong injury and not acceptable.

There is a reason some fireworks are illegal. If you like big booms and bangs, go to a legal display of the big stuff.

Shoot why not just go out and shoot a gun into the air with the way you are treating the topic? Oh that's right, the million to one chance the bullet will land and kill someone. What the heck burn their house down instead.

We will simply have to agree to disagree. The interesting fireworks require one exercise good judgement. If you don't bad things can happen. If you operate a car badly you can do far more damage. And cars are operated for pure pleasure as well as for utilitarian purposes.

Bet your legal firework person was damaged while doing it illegally. That is another of my favorites. Where is it illegal to shot off fireworks? Why in the middle of the street. What is the most rational place to shoot off fireworks? Why in the middle of the street.

Rarely legal commercial fireworks kill and maim. It happens. So that risk is acceptable but the personal use of much less dangerous stuff is not?
