I think that LLV needs to change its name. It is misleading. You would have far more conferences book there, in my opinion, it it was Desert Lake, or Lake of the SouthWest Resort. I have experienced firsthand how angry conference attendees can be when they realize they are nowhere near Las Vegas.

I, too, love the village. But it should be a RESORT. Like Palm Springs. A destination!

Any updates on the reopening of the casino at the village?

Default Restaurants.....

The casino is still closed, and I don't see any activity at it.

On a more positive note, two new restaurants open now,
Brooklyn's, sort of a comfort food place, pizza and wings for instance. This is where the old Black Pepper Grill was.
Lobsterman's Restaurant, seafood (as you could guess). Near Sunset and Vines.
Also the is a new resturant called Essence that is going in the old Bernard's location. Steak and seafood. It looks nice so far. Says opening soon, but don't know when.

Dan

I agree. The village needs a new vision. The current owner/Signal Butte could care less about the village and it shows. It's just a big write off to them. I still beleive that once all of the homes arrive in LLV, the village should consider professional offices instead of boutique shops. I see a physical therapy office is going in. But, you have to park in a garage to get there, but I guess, some professional/medical buildings are the same way.

The restaurants appear to be doing good. At dinner time and weekends, they are all busy. With all of the new homes coming in and new residents arriving, it's the most convenient spot. Brooklyns has a great happy hour! Essence is going to be a steak/seafood restaurant owned by Sonrisa/Mexican in the village.

Lake Las Vegas was actually supposed to be called Lake Montelago. This is why the village is called Montelago Village. It is confusing. Many think LLV is an extension of the strip and disappointed to find it's a quiet residential neighborhood. I doubt the name can be changed, but the vision should be identified.

I've said it before, but I really hope the new vision includes a movie theatre and a bowling alley/pool hall. I'd prefer that to the casino. Or a version that include all.. There is an entire floor above the casino that is not being used. The same foot print is upstairs. I think 40k square feet? It's huge up there.

I did see some people going into the casino the other day and a few cars parked right out front. Not sure who they were.

The Reflection bay Golf course appears to be a success. I can see the 18th tee from my home and carts are going by all day long. Limos are always at the club house. Lago Vista is pre-selling homes. They are going to be about a million bucks too!

It appears LLV was originally the Lake Adair project back in the 60's.

This should make for some good reading: How Henderson almost became ‘The City of Lake Adair’

It appears that Brooklyn's has closed already. Rumor has it that the owner took advantage of a 60 day termination clause in his lease. I hope the rumor isn't true. I thought the food at Brooklyn's was very good.

Several years ago, i used to do the Airbrush Tattoos at LLV when they had events such as Halloween, Beerfests, etc.... The person in charge of events (i believe her name was Andrea) left and then there was the woman who owned the candle scent store who took over.. thats when it went all down hill.... that was a great place for the kids and families and then it ended.. too bad...

I heard there was lots of drama with Brooklyns closing with the landlord-Signal Butte. This sucks as they had a great happy hour! I went there often and was hoping to keep going.

Julie Barbagallo did the best job in Lake Las Vegas. They all treated her badly too. Keep up the faith. The village will rebound once we get more rooftops out here. Housing, and population will make the village an instant success. Cadence and Tuscany has a direct route via Galleria Parkway now to LLV!.

I just heard that the Lago Vista Beach Club pricing is out. Starting at $881,000.00. I imagine the ones on the lake will be well over a million. Several other 'hoods on the way.

I conveyed my thoughts to the City and Cody Winterton about additional uses for the casino building. I still would love to see a Ipic/Gold class type movie theater, Lucky Strike Bowling alley, pool hall and make the focus less on the gaming. There is a whole bunch of space upstairs to use.

If you take a ride around LLV, check out the details they are upgrading. Little by little, the polish is coming back.. check out the roundabout at Montelago Parkway and LLV Parkway. New landscaping etc.

With all the "moneyed' people residing at Lake Las Vegas and you still have a ghost town at that little commercial center you call the village. Time for the village at Lake Las Vegas to re-brand and not so much on the elitist side, those people don't care if your little village survive.
