Got news for you.... guess what my position was in the casinos.... Cage.

Only place you can walk in and get a cage position without experience will be Stations. They pay 9.25
I started at the M Resort (With JUICE) and then the Cosmopolitan (with Juice)... incidently neither starts you at $20 an hour.

so go ahead... you can walk to the bank but you won't have casino money....

There may be dealers looking.
However I have 3 friends who relocted to Vegas in the last 6 months and ALL found dealing jobs within 3 months of their move,One in 25 days.

You get in somewhere, in any job, then cultivate juice. How else does anyone get it (well, maybe out and out buy it.)?

I got two lower level part-time jobs in LV before even moving here. One was in a casino nightclub and the other was not...I had both schedules arranged so there was no overlap. I got one of the employers to give me a conditional letter of hire which I used to secure an apartment. I then packed up and moved.

It CAN be done...but my case is an anecdotal one...most people said what I did couldn't be done...it seems simple the way I told it, but the truth is I laid a lot of background down before interviewing here.

Now, another thing is that I didn't get into a casino job...I got into a nightclub job that was in a casino. I started making casino contacts to get into the casino but then decided on plan "B". and left the casinos altogether.

I know people working in the casinos and they say the same thing that Airics is saying.

the difference between you Cyborg and the others is one thing.... You are one hell of a go-getter. You knew exactly what to do, how to do it, and you did it. Others think that they can just walk into the Casino and get a job the next day. This isn't 2004

^^^ Thank you, yes, I do go get when I want something. I agree that my situation was unique, that's why I referred to it as anecdotal.

I was hoping to use it as an example of anything's possible but most have to realize it's not the norm.

Some people don't understand what anecdotal evidence is and think just because_____did it that everyone can.

FWIW, I chose plan "B" ultimately because in the long run I didn't see the value in pursuing plan "A" with the casinos compared to plan "B". That plan got me to where I needed to be to initiate a new plan that will unfortunately take me out of state...but, I've been working on this plan for about nine months...and it's close to delivery! Pun intended.

I wouldn't recommend anyone just showing up here thinking they're going to get ANY casino job in a timely manner...let alone a FOH job.

The hiring process alone can make it hard to work one job while trying to get another...

TRUST me folks.... Listen to airics and Scoop! They know what they're talking about!

Heck, i'm a 100 times happier NOT being the casinos. Granted my benefits are not as cheap. But much less stress, much better hours... i'll take it...

As the juice or no juice if you have everything to gain and nothing to lose go for it. No matter what it is. Not applying has the same result as being turned down. The thing is if you apply you have some sort of a chance. The HR person may just be having a bad day and just hire you just to spite the company. Anything can happen.

If he had found something -- ANYTHING -- over the past seven years, he would likely be at the job he wants by now. But at the very least, he'd be working.

There are other strategies that might work. But I know for a fact that "get in, work hard, move up" works. It has the added benefit that the person employing the strategy has a job while doing so.
So if he can't find ANYTHING, how does the strategy "get in, work hard, move up" work for people like him?

The other inconsistency I find is that airics says you need juice to get in, and you often say that you couldn't even get a relative in the door. That is where people are getting confused. Is it that you (your position) isn't considered juice?

Just trying to baseline this discussion that we seem to have a few times per year.

Juice for me was upper level management, not just knowing someone who works there
