Nope, not when I spend Sunday - Thursday in California and escape here on Weekends. Then most of my weekend time is spent sleeping or out of the house.

We are in Henderson and in the summer we are around 50K gallons for a total bill around $200. In the winter we are more in the 10-12K gallon range for a 60-70 bill (that includes $25/month sewer). We probably have 6-7K sqft grass in 6 zones - 4 popup and 2 rotor.

Las Vegas is relatively cheap...though by no means at the bottom. Water is cheaper in Memphis, Milwaukee, SLC and Fresno among others. There are however lots of places where water costs more than twice as much as in Las Vegas. LV is about the same as Phoenix.

Kind of interesting that the cost of water varies as widely as it does. The feedstock starts out free...all the cost is in distribution and treatment.

The water rates here are not that bad, but the tiered system they went to awhile back makes larger users pay higher rate. Since so much of a household bill is normally due to landscape irrigation, we just dont get the necessary rainfall in this part of the country to allow one to turn off the sprinkler system for very long periods thus saving on monthly bills.

Not really true. The tiers are different depending on the meter size. A large place with a 1 inch meter will pay a much lower rate than a small residence with a 5/8 meter. A bigger meter costs more upfront however.

The charge for 30,000 gallons for a 5/8 meter is $93. (water only)
For a place with a 1.0 inch meter it is $63.
