I think my water bill is high, however thought I'd confirm.
3 adults 1 teen
3 bathrooms
Drip irrigation 56 minutes per week
Approximately 800 square feet of grass (3 zones) watered total of 126 minutes per week
Very small pool approx 6,000 gallons.
Last month's bill $76

Seem high?

Looks reasonable to me.
My last bill was $20 .... 1 person, no pool, no lawn, drip irrigation on 15 plants 20 min/day.

My bill in the Seattle suburb was $160 every other month! It included sewer but I had no outdoor watering, no pool, and 1 person.

Any recommendations for a leak detector or should I just call any plumber?

At my home in California where 2 adults live Mon-Fri and 2 additional adults and 1 baby live 7 days a week, we use something along the line of 2600 Gal/month on average. This includes watering a nice lawn in both the front and back yards.

I have never really paid much attention to my water bill at that home or my home in Henderson but the other day I really looked at my bill in Henderson for the first time since we bought the house and it says that for 2 adults using the house on weekends only (4 showers, 1 load of laundry, 1 run of the dishwasher and perhaps 15 flushes of the toilet each week) and desert landscaping with drip irrigation ARE YOU READY FOR IT? Apparently we use 11,000+ gallons/month for as far back as I can check my bills.

I would think that our house, if not our entire neighborhood, would have floated away by now if this were accurate.

Will the city come out and inspect for free or do I need to hire someone?

Ok, I need to call the water company and see if they do leak inspections. My bill is also over $70. 2 of us, regular showers/laundry, etc. No pool. 4 zone irrigation set for 9 minutes every other day..

They don't do leak inspections, but instructions are on their website. I just went and checked the meter under the sidewalk with all water off, and the indicator wasn't moving, so I guess there's no leak. Not sure why our bill is so high with just the 2 of us and no pool..

I should have paid attention to the usage, instead of only the $ before I shredded the bill.

What does 11,000 gal equate to in dollars ?

Maybe a leak in your irrigation system. Get initial number from water meter, turn on irrgation system, and then get the new reading from the water meter after irrigation turns off.

Again, this is 2 adults weekend use only for the most part, no pool. No grass etc. Showers, laundry, toilet, dishwasher and drip irrigation. Looks like something happened between Jul & Aug of last year to cause usage to nearly double.

What's your water bill like?-capture22.jpg

yikes, that IS high when you compare it to qinguy's bill and they're fulltime residents.
Definitely check your irrigation system.
