Mrs. CW went to Costco today and noticed the following gas prices on her trip:

Costco $2.49
Chevron (Terrible Herbst) $3.04

I know Costco is always cheaper, but how can there be a 55 cent per gallon difference?

It's a refreshing sign Capitalism is (somewhat) alive and well in the energy sector.

Yes but one needs to buy 190 gal to break even due to the $110 membership rate and this doesn't take into consideration the gas used to travel to a Costco when they are located a distance away from home. If one has a membership and lives nearby, I guess this is a good deal.

Costco offers a 100% membership refund guarantee. So get your $95 membership and fill up with cheap gas for 364 days and then go inside and cancel and they will gladly refund your $95.

You assume that gas is the only thing we buy at Costco. It is actually a very small fraction.
