I'm not sure what fit you think I'm having. There is a need to prove something when there is a poster making assertions manufactured out of thin air by using "I heard" and "they said" as sourcing. The last post I corrected used a number off by 500% with the "they said" sourcing. Why would you try and discourage someone from correcting false statements on such an important topic?

Most of those falsities come from a single person in this thread. I will continue to correct them as long as people present made up information as facts. I don't have anything against that person. They seem like an overly avid NFL fan that is perhaps getting info from R-J or media outlets out of touch with this market.

I've had several people in this thread ask me for links and sources to make their own decision, which I have provided. The one at the top of this page about the location is an example.

My last post correcting an inaccuracy has a link to the entire recommendation draft from the Committee. I don't think you will find that on any news site.

I've received many reputation likes (if that is what they are called) for providing information to this thread and correcting inaccuracies. It is clear people want this information and I will continue to provide it.

So when I read news from a legit news outlet it will always be wrong? But when you post we should take your word as gospel?

Lol, they took renderings of a stadium they already designed for Carson and dropped them into different sites in Vegas. Anyone with good photoshop skills could have done that. People in Vegas just getting fooled again.

It's a .88% tourist tax, so we're not directly paying for it. Since UNLV will also be using the stadium and taxpayers pay for most of UNLV expenses, I would support some public funding for the stadium and road improvements to the stadium. The benefits of the new stadium to UNLV, our hotels, casinos, restaurants, bars, stores will benefit Las Vegas, Clark County and the entire state. Reno should get a minor bump if the Raiders have their training camp in the area. I could envision some larger conventions including political conventions using the stadium and the NFL would definitely award Las Vegas a Super Bowl in the future. I could also see events like the Final Four, a new improved Las Vegas Bowl, Pac12 and or Big 12 Championship Bowl games, World Cup soccer games, big boxing or MMA matches, as all future possibilities. Las Vegas being Vegas a lot of people across the country would fly into town to see events while filling our hotels, and spending big amounts of cash. There are also some religious organizations that hold events in stadiums too.

If the developers want $750 million directly out of state coffers, or want a increase in property or sales taxes, I would give a quick no. I'm not ready to give knee jerk reaction without learning more.

A guy from the Sands said the stadium would be publicly owned but 60% privately financed. Is that typical for these stadiums?

What would we get out of it except for expensive tickets that most people would have a hard time affording.
The casinos should pay for it since they stand the most to gain.

UNLV would get a new home to play in, Job growth, economic growth, events the city has never been able to pull before and plenty of locals will be in the crowd.
