I saw a listing from kb homes about new houses in the sierra ranch area. It is located between craig rd and commerce st. Is this a nice or decent area to live? I have read another post about being close to the smell of a pig farm. Is this a problem now?

I live closer to Craig off of Commerce, and when the wind blows just right you can smell the farm. Sierra Ranch is right next to it, so yes, you will have a nice smell from it. That is a little too close to the pig farm.

I never smell the farm, it's a few miles east of me.

I visited that area and saw the homes. They are very nice and affordable. Problem is the school system that the kids would have to go to is statistically one of the worst in Vegas. If you can avoid Mojave...please do yourself and kids a favor. Wasn't aware of the Aroma that the tract came with, but that would definately cause me to stay away!!

The area is nice and growing fast. It is one of the most affordable in the valley. There are lots of homes for rent and the zip code is one of the top in foreclosures in the US
Mojave HS might not be the best but it is not the worse.
Yes, the smell is present most of the days. When and if the farm closes expect home values to go up by 15% or so.

Actually while Mojave is not the worst it is very, very close. I would not send a kid to Mojave. It simply has too many problems.
