You should be afraid of the competition as well! Because it would hurt the salary levels of jobs if people are willing to come here and work for so much less. It's a concern every American should have!

I am more concerned with the fact that I am forced to learn their language, rather than they being forced to learn mine. The national language seems to be becoming Spanish. My job and many others are threatened by Spanish speakers who do not speak very good English. This I witness in our schools! Even more of a concern is how our children are going to make out in generations to come.

If immigrants are willing to do it legally, and accept lower wages, if they can do the job, why not hire them? The point is that employers are hiring these illegals in order to make more money off them. Not just for the savings in wages (this is minor) but the savings from Workers Comp and insurance, SS funds and IRS. Employers who hire illegals are raking in the bucks! I am much more resentful about this than the poor immigrants.

This is what you should be fearful of. Jobs come and go. If the market is not able to uphold the supply, move on. Find a market that will flourish.
