Started as a clerk. Moved to Office Audit. Managed Office Audit. Moved to (can't think of the name) where she audited small businesses and farms. Took a ton of training to learn how to convert data from large company mainframes to PC's and then managed groups doing the same in three states. When she would go to companies for auditing and "convincing" them what information they had to supply she could not tell me where she was so for many years I had no idea where she worked.

So here's a good explanation of why I want a shop instead of being a mobile mechanic.

I live in the blue circle. I had a repeat customer break down in the red circle.
He said his belt shredded off. So I picked up a new belt and only brought basic tools instead of the whole kit.
I get there and the belt came off because the fan pulley bearing assembly flew apart.
I needed more tools so I drove to the nearest parts store, in purple, and picked up the tools. Meanwhile the part was on east Sahara near the blue circle. They managed to get it delivered to the parts store in the green circle. The customer went and picked up the part while I was pulling everything apart.
They get the new part which doesn't include everything. So I needed to use old stuff off the old part which means another trip to purple to get specialty tools. These are tools I didn't have previously because I don't normally work on diesels.

So a 1 hour job turned into a 7 hour job. And the awesome part is it was extremely windy, raining, and also snow hailing.

If I was already into the shop I would have contacted my tow truck buddy and had the truck towed to my shop, had my commercial supplier bring the part, worked on it int he dry warm shop with adequate lighting, and while waiting for parts i could have been doing something more productive.

I had a store front for the online sales.
We were supposed to be able to transfer into one of the shop spaces when we were ready.
We had it written into our contract.
When we were ready they decided that they no longer allow automotive anything in their plaza so we left.

I have been friends with Adam for 10 years. I met him off of this forum back in 2009. This not knowing what has happened to him has been really bothering me. I figured the last hope would be to drive to St. Joseph's, go in there and play dumb looking for Adam. I was hoping to run into one of the cna's that I would recognize. Luckily, this is exactly what happened! I saw one that had been taking care of Adam. She recognized me as one of his visitor's. I told her I have a very bad feeling and am worried about him. She let me know he died last year. That was as much info as I could get. I started to cry as it really hit me, thanked her, and left. I used to go to the strip on the weekend's and visit with him as he sat in his wedding dress in front of the Coca Cola store. I have not been to the strip in years, but if I ever am, I will always think about him as I pass that spot.

RIP Adam R 1965-2018 👼

That stinks. I feel bad for you. Reminds me when I leased a warehouse in Ohio, made sure I could sell cars, and 1 month after moving in, the rules changed. I lost several thousand.
