I have been in Ca(IE area) for several months and I have being seeking work. Now I'm debating about moving to LV or NM due to not being able to find work. I have applied everywhere including fast food and I still get turned down. I have a degree in marketing & management as well as experience in the Insurance field(auto, home, boat, and etc..) Help any feedback is important. I'll willing to do customer service work at call center or everywhere.

In your situation I would look into Phoenix instead. They have tons of call center jobs and there unemployment rate is much lower than the inland empire or Vegas.

I don't know if you would want to consider it, but Texas has a relatively stable economy, no personal income tax and jobs in the metroplex areas. There are a lot of people moving there though so the competition is there, but there are jobs to be had.

You will give up scenery and many would never consider TX, but it's a thought.

I lived in TX for 48 years before moving to LV, specifically in the Dallas area. The only thing that enabled us to move to Las Vegas is that we both are 'telecommuters' and can live anywhere in the country.

For your particular situation and stated job skills, I'd go elsewhere, honestly.

LV has one of the highest unemployment rates of any major city. If you're coming here for a job, you're looking in the wrong place.

Texas is a total hell hole that will bring another set of problems even if you get a job. Going from the California paradise to there will not be tolerable. Trust me, look into Phoenix. It is my hometown and I will gladly answer any questions you have.

Phoenix isn't exactly rosy either, just started in much better shape but its running its course and will be over 10% shortly. If all that matters is job prospects definitely try the Upper Midwest. Anything north of Kansas and you are looking at 5% unemployment rates and shortages of skilled workers. Of course going to say Omaha from CA might be a tough adjustment.

I never said it was. I am basing my advice given this particular OP's situation. I definitely like living in Vegas over Phoenix. However, if I became unemployed I would go back there as I have always had better luck on jobs and salary. Phoenix is also at least livable, unlike Texas which isn't.
