In my oppinion, Rocky Point is one of best deals left on Long Island as it has great schools, affordable homes, safe family neighborhoods, and above all, great people.
I've heard similar things about Rocky Pt. I don't really know it personally.

Oooh, no. Don't do that.
I'm about to leave Lindenhurst. Been vandalized on multiple occasions, LOTS of screaming fast cars and motorcycles, packs of kids wandering the streets until midnight. And I'm not in the fringes of this town, either.

A friend used to work here. I asked him why he left. He said, "two words: white trash."

As for Deer Park, the long and short of what I know is that they don't spend money on books in the high school, and the brighter kids head off to the private school. (Their AP program is just 3 years old there.)
