Auto inspection NYS (Huntington, Huntington Station, Lindenhurst: inspections, live, shops)

Does anybody know of any shops on Long Island (Syosset area), that are inspection only? Somebody mentioned that there are some shops that are inspection only, hence are less likely to fleece you out of money by coming up some lame defects to make money. Thanks for your responses in advance

I'd be surprised if there are indeed shops that only do inspections. The equipment required to perform the inspections is very expensive, and the $37 they are allowed to charge would hardly keep any shop in business

If you trust your dealer, they should be able to do an inspection for you. Trust is key here, no matter where you go.

Indeed....no one could survive on just inspection fees

There is an alignment shop across the street from "All weather Tire" on depot rd in Huntington Station that does NYS Inspection and front end alignment only,no other mechanical repairs.

What about Firestone? They have a location in Lindenhurst and Bayshore.

I've been there many times for inspection, quick and relatively painless.
