I used Robert Chernack in Huntington, thought he was reasonable and knowledgeable.

Lotsofcash-Actually no family business to speak of-parents were teachers. However, my husband and I have college educations, my husband has an MBA while I have a master's degree-educations were paid by selves. We are hard working and have solid, well paying jobs. BTW, your snipit about the "family business" came across to me as sarcastic, judgmental and hostile. I'm thinking there was some jealousy in there too.

James De Luca (Cold Spring Harbor) 631.367.7011
He's an architect, not a contractor.

Anthony Musso in Cold Spring Harbor. Has many years of experience!

Also, Gary Gallagher. When I first bought my house in Cold Spring Harbor, he came up with some creative plans when I thought I'd remodel--never came about because of life changes. Liked the way he listened...
Linden Estates

Good luck!

There was a post prior to mine which was deleted - possibly someone who was tring to re-introduce the thread by doing a self-promotion which got deleted...
Of course I should/could have looked at the dates myself... But didn't because it seemed rather timely with your new purchase
