Wyandanch and the South Bronx really have little to nothing in common. That's like comparing the Upper West Side to Commack.

I agree with this -- There may be other fine places, but there's no place like home

We can and we are. Delaware bound and can't wait. Life long minus almost 3 years here and staying makes no sense anymore. I will miss some things I am sure, but not enough to stay.

He was outta there and now posts about "piggly wigglys", which shows he has no clue what the Charlotte suburbs look like. His, like many of the "there's no place like LI in the WORLD", posts seem more like them trying to convince themselves more then anything else - but that's my personal opinion having been reading this LI forum for 5 years. Suffolk County like Orange County CA?! seriously... LOL. Some great old classics involving sean you should try and find...

For 20 years I've driven down my Mother's block and the same guy has the same junker under the same 20 year old tarp at the end of his driveway... rotten fences, pitted driveways, crumbling exteriors in need of serious repair... and that's just the 40 year old schools that they can't afford to do maintenance on. Insolvent municipalities that dug giant holes for themselves via unsustainable pension and debt liabilities - this is the wave of the future for your "established" towns. Capping taxes - cuts - austerity... everyone knows this won't work, but they'll try and pretend they can... Layoffs, consolidation, closings, and "emergency management" is more like what it will come to. Now more then ever, LI has turned on itself and will continue to vilify the public sector as the "root" of the problem. They won't be happy until they gut the teachers and cops so deep that it looks nothing like it used to... a very serious reality check for those at the beach enjoying bagels and pizza.
He said Piggly lol.

Most of the troublemakers/criminals in impoverished urban areas of NYC will never be attracted to Long Island since Long Island doesn't have the "action" that the city has. It doesn't have the wild lifestyle that attracts those types of people.

And the only areas on LI that are even remotely comparable to the South Bronx is a small part of Hempstead and Freeport near the LIRR stop.

My god, you know very little about long island. I could name you another 10+ places on this beloved Long Island that you wouldnt want to get within 5 miles of........especially if you werent the "color" of said neighborhood.

comparing OC or southern CA to long island is hysterical. people from all over the country if not world dream of moving to southern CA. NO ONE from other parts of the country even remotely considers moving to LI. LI is almost entirely natives and some who took job transfers to the area. People around the US dont uproot their lives to accomplish their dream in moving to nassau or suffolk county. They do that exact thing and move to southern ca every day. whens the last time u saw some wide eyed young girl from missouri stumbling around selden or lynbrook saying wow, cant believe i finally made it here?

Let's hear it. Honestly some people from Long Island are the most racist and sheltered people I've ever met. I'm from there so I should know.
I'm sorry but the hyperbole of the above statement is absolutely ridiculous. It feels like some Long Islanders think every single minority leads a life of crime. The amount of space your ridiculous statement would expire is ludicrous. Please save the race-baiting for another forum (maybe Stormfront is more your speed).
