You think it's BM? He's written posts dinging NC to hell and back (especially the schools!) when he solidly rejected it as totally subpar compared to Midlothian VA when he was relocating. Quite brutal posts!

I for one don't believe this story.... I had a couple of friends that moved form not only from where I live but from Cali and are struggling to gain traction on the Island. I told them it was expensive but until you actually make the move, you can see it for yourself. The grind, stress, rat race, traffic, costs and so on takes a toll, both physically and mentally, far from a walk in the park, but talk is cheap

15 minutes or so I asked him what was is tax number, because I wanted to see if he got on the job before or after me....."'He stated oh I didn't get one of those'" HA!!!! Every member has one! Kind of was BS'ing the table.....except I happen to be there

And yeah, I did bring up HOA and pest control, 2 of about a dozen various costs to compare to LI. The main point of that was to show the COL differences were highly exaggerated -- which I proved without a doubt. Funny, I don't recall you adding to that thread with your own COL difference to contribute. Only Bigmike (and possibly 1 other poster) attempted it and came up with a whopping $1-$2k difference for basic COL.

You weren't the only one to bring those up... I did read the COL posts you refer to, but you didn't prove anything related to costs - certainly not a dollar figure.

1-2 k more on basic COL, doesn't explain how families of 4 and 5 live very very good on 75k income a year... I know many that do it... One must take everything into consideration
