Went there in the late 70's to hang around in the cemetery. I remember there being a church or house under construction and something about a female ghost in white? It was very, very spooky!
Where is this place?? I never heard of it until this thread!! Do tell!
This place is legendary. I have known about it almost 20 years but never ventured over there until 3 years ago. This sweet hollow/Mount misery stories go hand in hand with Mary's grave tales too.
If you're from someplace like Hicksville or Queens Sweet Hollow might be scary but if your used to dark woodsy roads it's really nothing special. My mom and my sister go riding up there.
The legend goes that some time on this road, where's this a dip in the road, a school bus was involved in a fatal accident where several children didn't make it. Word has it, if you drive down there late at night, sprinkle the hood of your car with baby powder and coast at the top of the dip, coasting down into the dip, you'll see the tiny hand prints of children on your hood in the baby powder. The tiny hands are trying to push your car back, up the dip.
wow....this is really scary....i drove down there with friends many years ago and i was scared to death! very narrow roads and fortunately nothing happened.
I was though about something with a car and physics....don't remember what exactly it was...anyone know?
Plenty of trees have been run into on the road, but I find it hard to believe that a school bus could get up enough speed to crash killing all aboard. It's just very curvy.
I think it's just an urban legend... nothing to be too concerned about.
you should not drive there at night and especially do not go into the woods. there have been deaths and dissapearances. the supernatural energy is very powerful there and the indians called it a bad place and knew not to go there. it influences those who go there. there was a childrens hospital that burned and all died. it was located deep in the woods.
Deaths and disappearances ... oh please
My sister used to ride horses at the stables there ... the only dangerous thing about the area is the morons that race up and down Sweet Hollow Road.

I guess I could be called one of those morons since I almost hit a tree after pretty much going airborn over one of the bumps in the road. There was also a time when we were surfing on the top of my mom's mini van thtough there and we passed a cop and all he did was call us morons. We thought for sure he was gonna turn around and get us but nope he left us alone. Good times. LoL
