So I learned that the school has surplus of funds from the closure. Instead of giving the surplus back to tax payers, some of whom are financially suffering due to loss of jobs or donating to the community/hospitals where many are hurting, they are going to rollover to next year. For what? For raises at the expense of others? Is there something we can do about this? How can our tax money be used this way, especially in this crisis? Also my kids teachers are not even working while still getting paid. I don’t care what anyone says but making a to do list that requires minimal changes from day to day is far from a full time job. They dont even correct assignments. I’m so disappointed that our school takes advantage of the situation instead of stepping up to help.
The teacher contracts will need to be honored, and if they have raises pending they will need to be paid. Your job as a taxpayer is to cough up the tax funds.

I don’t see how there is a shortfall. Everyone & everything is still getting paid in the school system, based off of 2019 funding for 2020. Actually, there’s probably a shortfall because every school will now need to be completed sanitized at least once. An additional cost.
Those are 2019 funds that were already allocated. 2020’s funding for 2021, let’s just hope everything stays the same with our taxes. However, I don’t see that happening with all the shortfalls throughout the county & state.

You say contracts like we once agreed to it and have to do so for life. Aren't they crying about working "without a contract" right now? Why can't we bring them back down to earth?...
Why won't they come back down to earth seeing that many others are struggling and they are taking directly from our pockets?...

I was being somewhat tongue in cheek. After all, “it’s for the children”.
So next year is the first time my school taxes should remain the same? I couldn’t even type that statement without laughing. It’s just sad.
