The Dairy Barn on Old Country Road in Plainview folded.

grew up in west babylon in 50's & 60's and remeber Vinnie's Happy Landing well !! Memory is hazy but also remember the following :

Codfish Bob's at Babylon Dock (best clams on half-shell !!)

The Bulk's Nursery Windmill

Jahn's Ice Cream Parlour

Belmont Deli (still the only non-residential spot on Belmont Ave between Sunrise Hwy & Southern State/Belmont Lake)

I live just outside Houston, TX now but do remember some of the "good old days" growing up on LI !!!!

Hey Rizzo...I'm only 33....my younger sis had such a crush on one of the guys in Suffocation (I think his name was Chris). I LOVED Sparx....my hubby played there along with the Roxy in Huntington. He was in Dyrect Hitt (Ha ha). My cousin did some naughty things with a couple of the bartenders in the back rooms LOL!!!! My most memorable shows at Sparx was Testament with Green Jello Jelly - whatever), Danger Danger...my cousin and her best friend got their butts signed by Ted Poley (singer)....ahhhh memories!!!!

NaturalBornDaddy- I totally had forgotten about Playworld being there before Pergament! One of the letters on the red sign out front was a Jack-o-Lantern, wasn't it? I can barely remember that place. Jeffn- wasn't there a Big Bow Wow in Howard Beach? They had a huge arcade in there. Haven't been that far down Cross Bay Blvd in many years. JGennaro- I believe that would be Chris Richards, Suffocation's old bass player. I have also seen them and several other bands play at The Roxy(Deicide, Bolt Thrower, Internal Bleeding). That was another cool place. I had always dreamed about my own band playing there. Sadly though I was never asked to autograph someone's bottom. I can't imagine watching Testament in a place as small as Sparx and seeing Alex Skolnick that close up
