Exactly. And it seems we're all too busy following the latest celebrity scandals to see our country being taken away from us. Stuff like this is exactly our Forefathers granted us the right to bear arms, to defend ourselves against a government that no longer represents the people. The only way to stop this Corpocracy is for the masses to get together and form a huge uprising against the government.
Maybe this is what will happen in 2012?
Have you ever seen the movie Zeitgeist?
They talk a lot about how distractions are encouraged by the people with the money and power.
There will never be a revolt in the U.S. because Americans are too complacent, soft, and squishy. As long as they can sit and complain on the Internet from the comfort of their homes after working all day in a box and then sitting in traffic in their gas-guzzling SUVs, they will not see a need to.
Better yet, the sequel to Zeitgeist, Zeitgeist Addendum, is all about corporatocracy.
And there's not a one among us who does not benefit from the slave labor in other parts of the world, even as we suffer the eternal debt of our own illegitimate monetary system.

Those "movies" are known as being factually inaccurate at best, and flat out deceitful at worst. You bought the bill of goods hook, line, and sinker... no surprise there.
Well the issue might not be completely over yet. Dems have called on Mangano to co-sponsor a repeal of the raises after they felt Schmitt has backtracked on rescinding the raises.
Quote:
Schmitt, of Massapequa , had said Friday that he would push to rescind the stipend raises he had put forth.
But Democrats told Mangano by letter that Schmitt "backtracked" Monday when he did not "call a proposed ordinance [to rescind the raises], which he filed late last Friday" and had placed on Monday's Rules Committee agenda.
Schmitt, though, said he did not call the item because by Monday he had decided to repeal the raises the same way he hiked the stipend on Jan. 25 - by a procedural resolution.
In related news, there was a protest at the Town Of Hempstead for Kate Murray and friends to sack their raises as well. The group says if she does not, they will pursue legal action. That's awesome.
A spokesperson tried to defend the raise by blabbering on about TOH having not raised taxes in a few years, and being financially strong etc...Which means that they are not going to give up their raise easily.
