I have lived in Southern California my whole life, and I would move to Chicago in a heartbeat if it was not for that cold. I find 55 degrees here frigid, so I cannot even imagine what 10 degrees feels like. I still think about moving there, but I am skeptical of being able to handle those winters.

13 degrees right now. I think I'm ok down to about 30. This is awful.

Harrier visited Milwaukee earlier this year and liked what he saw.

The Midwest encompasses a big area and many places, both rural and urban.

Harrier wouldn't entirely dismiss making such a move, but be mindful of what you need or want, and select accordingly.

Better not call it pop around LA, people will think you grew up milking cows. I already give all my friends crap over here for that, and bubblers, and parking ramps.

So funny how weather was mentioned in 90+% of the posts in this thread, and that's because weather is the only reason to live there besides the fact that you work in the entertainment industry. Of course there are those of us that love winter. Oh wait? You don't? Then you are just pissing away your retirement by paying way too much for COL to live in a city that is incredibly ugly.

Stupid **** like this is not any better than racism because it's obviously posted by a person that has no personal experience in the region and no common sense to make any difference. Otherwise ignorant. I am now dumber for having read your comments. Congrats. I am embarrased for you.

It's too bad that you as a Californian met and wanna marry an out of stater lol. But hey it happens quite a bit. First things first. Determine if marriage really is in the cards. If yes well Ohio..."meh"....middle of the road America. To answer your Q, yes. Yes I would leave LA, CA to move to the Midwest. Of course pending circumstances. I made a similar move.. to the southeast.
