Is anyone familliar with the Vista Del Canon townhouse condos? What is it like living there? I see that there are quite a few units for sale on Redfin and the price looks atractive. What would the commute be to Sun Valley?

No, I live in Santa Clarita, but it is kind of a city with smaller townships, Valencia/Saugus/Newhall/Castaic/Canyon country is what I can remember. So tell us where these apt are and we might be able to tell you the general stuff. Also need to know what your needs are, kids in school/activities etc.

Commute down the 5 or the 14 in the morning is not the best, most everybody is going that direction, it would depend on the time of the day too. Sun Valley is not too bad after-all considering that this is Southern CA we are talking about

This is the area I am asking about:

18834 VISTA DEL CANON Unit A, Newhall, CA 91321 | MLS# S606461

This is close to the Costco in Newhall. My needs are a safe neighborhood. I do not have kids, middle aged and middle income.

Default Anyone?????

I have read other posts stating that Newhall is not that great compared to the rest of the SCV. Any rationale behind those statements?

My sister-in-law lived in the Vista del Canon condo's and she seemed to like it. It seemed like a nice place when they had us over. I'm not sure where this development actually falls, but to a local it would be considered Canyon Country. I know the area well and this is in a decent part of town.

There are two areas in Canyon country I'd advise against if you want to avoid riff-raff. 1) North Oaks Lower housing tract off plum (it has some nice streets, but over all it's best avoided) Any of the condo complexes (townhouse complexes seem ok) that are near the Sierra Hwy/Soledad canyon intersection.

And to set things strait, Newhall has some shady neighborhoods, but it also has some nice neighborhoods.
