ummm...Los Angeles and San Diego are NOT Mexican named - they were named by the Spanish in the 18th century before Mexico revolted against Spain. This is a critical difference - There is a clear difference between Spanish persons and Mexican persons - they don't even speak the same dialect of Spanish!

Mexicans are a mix of Spainish and Indian (from central America). Mexican is a nationality but I like to call it a race because honestly, indians are still looked at as a lower class in Mexico and Spanish think their still high class and Mexicans are a mix of the both. Not to get toooo far into theory, Spainish America and Mexican America are one in the same. your right about the tounge of Spanish, its difference, but so we dont fight lets do this.

Dont come to L.A. if you dont like spanish speaking people, because it has names like Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco.
Its like walking into Chinatown and complaining cause everyone is speaking Manderan and Cantonesse.
Accept it, dont get mad it ruins your day, remember where you came, move on and have a great day and enjoy our food

Mexico is a very complicated nation - those who don't study history have a very narrow idea of Hispanics(I still find people here in LA of all places who group all Hispanics as Mexicans and don't understand there are Salvadorans, Nicuraguans, Guatemalans..etc... and don't know what brought these people here(political revolutions and repression).

No, Mexican is NOT a race - u r correct - it is a nationality and has a proud history. It is too bad that it's recent leaders have been corrupt - why is there a illegal immigration issue on the Mexico-USA border?: because the politicians in Mexico are corrupt! Guatemala is even worse - why do you think Mexico has a strict illegal immigration policy on their southern border?

Yes, Mexicans(I believe originally Mestizos - a mix of Spanish conquistadors and Aztecs or Mayans, plus other civilizations) are there own nationality - that is what happens if you win independence as Mexico did form Spain(commemorated on 16 de Septiembre). However - remember - even if the origanal Mesoamerican civs were integrated into the padres who founded San Diego and traveled up to the current Pueblo de Nuestra de la Senora de Porincula la Reyna de Los Angeles - the cities of Los Angeles and San Diego were still named by Spanish conquistadors before the early 19th century revolution that made Mexico an independent state.

Mexicans are little more complex than simply being a "mix of Spanish and Indian." Some Mexicans, such as Johnny Laboriel, have ancestors that came from Africa. While others, like Salma Hayak and Carlos Slim, have ancestors that came from Lebanon.

Yes - then there is the legacy of Bohemia beer ( a German beer made in Mexico) - Mexico took in Jews fleeing from Nazi Germany - and although likely most Nazi's fleeing Germany in 1945 ended in South America - I would not be surprised to find some went to Mexico also.

They actually take in lots of fleeing races. I saw on the news a fews years ago, prolly like 5 there was police raiding a place out in the Mexican rural ares where they had Koreans who fled the Korean war being kept as slaves making clothes in sweat shops. It was very sad, imagin being held as a slave for years and not knowing your country finally stopped fighting, in the South at least.

Oh really, then I guess the headline last year in the Los Angeles Times about the Nazi protest in downtown turning bloody was a lie?
