My husband and I are most likely going to be moving into an apartment in this neighborhood. I'm not from LA -- have spent a good amount of time in the LA area, but have never lived here.

Is Kenmore (North of Franklin, South of Los Feliz Blvd.) safe for a young woman (i.e., solo evening walks, very early morning jogging, etc.)?

Obviously the neighborhood itself is quite lovely but since I'm not from LA I don't really have a good sense of whether the look of the place is a good barometer for how safe it actually is.

Our friends live in the Los Feliz area and love it. I'm not too worried, personally, but I know my Mom is concerned because to her it's all "the city," so this is partially to ease her mind too.

It's a pretty safe area. East Hollywood is a bit rougher, but Los Feliz is an upscale neighborhood. North of Franklin is better than south of it. I think it's a cool neighborood. There's a lot of people who live there not from LA.

I'd also consider it a safe neighborhood. Los Feliz is arguably the single most desirable neighborhood within L.A. city limits. It has more to offer than any of the other upscale hoods.
