Recommending LA Fashion District/Santee to a 17 year old visiting from Michigan? Do you really think he'll enjoy that? The Promenade may be fun. It'll be sunny, there are a lot of shops, good for someone her age, not a bad idea.

Del Amo is like every other mall on the planet. It's large, reasonably priced, just outside of LA, a few minutes south. If you want a run-of-the-mill shopping mall, I can't think of a better one than Del Amo.

Summerset is nice, kinda, i mean it has the stores that are high priced on one side. If you want something downgraded kinda like a great lakes mall try the mall un rialto, its a little far. Try montebello, that would be a eureka kinda mall. If you arent too high class to mingke with commoners, the alleys in downtown are the best place, they make all the clothes for major companies in their sweatshops and forget the pricetag, pick up a street corner hot dog while youre there. If you want a sumerset try santa anita mall. If you wanna go ghetto go to crenshaw mall, thats like the oakland mall. If you wanna fear for your life try slauson supermall. If you want culture and churros go to los tres amigos mall.

Well lol im from Detroit but live in Kalamazoo now. But I don't really blow all my money trying to show out like half the people in Detroit do (Detroit turns into a black fashion show sometimes). But I do like what alot of other teens like except skinny jeans and chucks (just not my thing). I don't like outdated stuff like Fubu and Sean John and stuff like that which will get u verbally assassinated up here.

So anyway I checked out "Montebello" seems pretty cool. And "Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza" got a question about this one, would Crenshaw mall be like fairlane mall where they have a bunch of local stores inside??? Majority of them urban clothing stores???

And I tried to check out slauson supermall but they don't even have a damn website. That already makes me not want to go there. I hope it's not dangerous like Eastland where people had to dodge bullets all Christmas season last year and they constantly made the news. Then ill pass on that.

Ah well I just moved out here to Detroit like last year so I got LA fresh in my memory.
Crenshaw is comparable to fairlanes, its not local stores cause it wants to be but because its hard to find major stores to open in that area, not cause its "gang banger" central but cause or lower income and lots of theft, an example would be the Wal Mart inside, a friend of mine who worked there said, 50 percent of its loss is from employees, so imagin is they had a Gucci store there. and stuff and are urbanish, they filmed Tupac's To live and Die in LA there, so it would be worth to takes pictures there at least. Lots of Urban things, its alright

Slauson is pretty dangerous if you dont know the area, I wouldnt walk up in there, but it is a mall, and you can find deals there. But its more Sean John and those kinda clothes.

Glendare Gall is pretty nice like people before me have said, so is the Citadel.

Montebello is kinda like a teen mall, its chill, no poodles running around and high class people.

I know Kalamazoo. Small world.

South Coast Plaza: A WIDE variety of stores and prices. High end to pretty medium/every day. Freeway from Anaheim will be stop and go. Heck, everything in LA/OC is stop and go.

Del Amo: It jumps on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of people shopping. Wide mix of whites/blacks/hispanics. Pretty typical mall with the usual stores. Nothing special.

Lakewood Center: Pretty much Del Amo with an older clientele. If you go there (or Del Amo) do NOT take the freeway. Go north on Harbor and Hang a left on LaPalma. LaPalma turns into Del Amo. I think. Check a map. But it's 20 minutes from where you'll be staying.

Glendale Galleria: Another standard mall. But the drive from Anaheim is horrendous.

Of the four I'd take South Coast Plaza. Have you checked out Fashion Island? Pricey but it's on a cliff over looking the Pacific Ocean. THAT's the mall I take people from Kalamazoo to. I'd go either SCP or FI and spend slowly. Take your time and just enjoy that it's SoCal.

Whatever you do: Avoid the 5 during rush hours. You will be stuck in traffic and wrung out by the time you get there. Citadel is nice. You might enjoy the vibe there and it's a lot closer to Anaheim than Glendale.

One more: If you go to The Grove. Go across the street to Farmers Market. Sit, have a coffee (or a mango splash) and people watch.

Shinhiryuu Welcome to Detroit. I'm moving back there pretty soon. Anyway based off of distance and quality it looks like my choices will be between the ones I said in earlier post and "Crenshaw Mall", "Montebello Mall" "Westfield Mall" and "South Coast Plaza Mall". Thanks for the advice, been pretty good so far.
