I passed the first segment of a job process. It is in Lynwood. While it is a 1 in 500 chance of getting it - some of the anxiety would be alieviated if I could imagine where I could live with my 17 year old daughter and feel safe. I wouldn't do too well with anything over a 30 minute commute. Any suggestions?

How about Lynwood itself? (It was good enough for Weird Al!).

High rent in the area will be my problem. I would like a 3/2 for under 2k

My choice would be Lakewood. 3/2 house MIGHT be a bit tough to find under 2K. I know a 2/2 SFR or 3/2 townhome is very possible. If your daughter is still in high school, be sure to pick the area zoned for Long Beach or Bellflower School Districts. If not, any part of Lakewood is basically nice and safe.

If Lakewood doesn't work due to price or distance, you will find your price range in Bellflower. Its safe enough and features some passable high schools.
