This thread is by no means racist at all. If anything most of my patients are Salvadorans from Fontana.

I remember back in the 1980s, there was a good amount of mexicans barely settling in LA, they'd usually stay around Boyle Heights but in today's modern times, you see alot of mexicans spill over into Pasadena, Orange County (the gritty parts), and even Chinatown.

I'm totally aware of the diversity of Pico Union among Central Americans, and the random South Americans scattered around. However the latino presence in SoCal still feels very Mexican dominated, so much that it even feels more on your face in the small pockets of our unique ethnicities like Armenians in Glendale, Vietnamese in North OC, Blacks in Compton, Spaniards in Eaglerock and many more.

Once again just to clarify, i do not have anything personal against Mexicans, but i'm asking if anyone else feels the same if LA is in endangered of losing its diversity status?

I'v been to so many mexican whole in the walls / taco stands, that it lost its specialness to me, now i view them no different than i do with McDonalds (in the sense that they're on every block, they all taste the same, commen sight anywhere you go)

I used to be the biggest LA cheerleader in the City vs City threads whenever it was battle of the most diverse cities, now i'm starting to see why many vote for NYC, there's a very balanced, fair percentage in the melting pot.

You could not be more wrong at all. Even on the Westside there was a sizable Mexican-American population in the '80s.

Mexican/Hispanic is the ethnic majority in Ca and that's not going to change. It is what it is just part of living here.

I agree with you about Mexico food it all tastes the same to me

I don't see how having a large Mexican population would make L.A less diverse .
I mean every city is going to have one nationality that is the majority .

I know Mexican American old timers that grew up in the valley back in the days when it was farmland .

Houston is actually more diverse than L.A or NYC these days though .
I guess they just don't brag about it as much as L.A or NYC

Houston is America's most diverse city, and others are finally starting to notice - Houston Chronicle
