Zankou Chicken has fantastic chicken especially when you add the garlic.

I have noticed that most lunch specials are about $8 and are a bit small. The purple side dish is turnips, though newbies won't know that. I sometimes buy the $10 special instead which is more chicken.

I would go more often but it's a bit pricey.

Thanks, I'll try it. Glendale is getting more Armenian, I've read.

What parts of Glendale are more Armenian?

Any time I'm anywhere near one, I go...... I like the Tarna plate. Love the hummus and the sesame side sauce, I think that what it is called, and the garlic dip/spread....

Man... It's a bit pricey for a lunch, but good as hell.

Al Wazir > Zankou

Wow, we agree on almost everything.

I don't think Zankou is anything special. It's become overpriced.

This place is a joke. I got a falafel plate to go and they didn't bother wrap up the pitta bread or anything, they just dropped it in the bag on top of my box of food. The cashier almost touched the bread with his bare hands, after touching everyones money. I was like "No. Why isn't the pita bread wrapped in foil? Why is it just left like this? You need to wrap this up and if you're going to try and touch my food you need to be wearing gloves. Standard.". They were clueless. It's just standard/common sense to wrap up some damn pita bread in foil! or put it inside the box of food. The falafel plate was nothing to get excited about either.

Just a strange place. I don't understand the hype and I don't understand the point of this post either.

I think they always do that with the pita...it is kinda weird

I agree Zankou has gotten pretty pricey...not sure if the quality has remained consistant either.

Got a tarna plate from the Toluca Lake location , the quality wasnt very good from what I remember. .

I have to say they are VERY quick though...almost mCdonalds quick with getting ur food to you

A lot of middle eastern type places take their sweet time
