90% huh?

Now that's just silly. 90% of the streets in LA would encompass hundreds (thousands?) of plain, residential streets that should never ever be OW.

I think the # of main thoroughfares that would benefit by being OW in part (as part of a thought-out "core" of streets in dense neighborhoods) would number under 50.

Why would making Wilshire one way make it anything more than a high speed freeway with sidewalks?

We need to be looking towards being more pedestrian friendly, bike friendly, walkable, etc. Doing this would kill any chance at becoming that, and it's such an outdated mentality.

If you think it would make things so much better, look at all the traffic that still exist in NYC where there's 1 way streets all over the place. You apparently have the book smarts or connections to make the salary you claim to make, but as far as real world smarts, it seems not so much

Is Los Angeles unfriendly to pedestrians and bicyclists?

I'm certain areas it's improving a lot, but overall it's far from being the most bike/pedestrian friendly city. LA has to shed a lot of its pro-car mentality before we get there.

But my point was that turning those large corridors into one way streets would be counterintuitive to further improvement.

Except that anything going down Wilshire will be below grade via the Purple Line subway. That's why I referred to Wilshire.
