I am from the San Fernando Valley area, Burbank/Glendale area, and one of friends lives about 40-50 miles from me driving distance, which takes them about 45 minutes to 1 hour and 40 minutes depending on the traffic conditions to come over, but with traffic being in effect sometimes it takes them about 1-3 hours to arrive, has this ever happened to any of you? Where it usually takes you 45 minutes to get someone but it ended up taking you longer, like 1-3 hours with traffic or no not really?

I live in DTLA and work in Santa Monica, when I drive without traffic it takes me 25 mins. when I commute in the morning and eventing it can take me up to an hour and a half each way. Gotta love that LA traffic *sighs*

Once the metro line from DTLA to Santa Monica FINALLY opens up that will eradicate my traffic problems.

Welcome to LA??? All it takes is one or two accidents/construction to really screw up a commute. And as a Glendale resident I can tell you there is always someone driving like an idiot and then crashing their BMW/Mercedes on the 134 or 5 while trying to race in rush hour

I drive around the city every day for my job and I've gotten pretty good at picking the right times to travel and estimating driving time. But, every once in a while I get completely body slammed by traffic and end up sitting there forever. Would you believe an HOUR to get from Topanga to the 405 on the 101? It happened recently.

Well since the 405/101 bottleneck is one of the worst in the country I do believe it

I used to commute to Anaheim to Los Feliz and it would take me about 45 minutes to get to work in the morning. And on the average it would take about 1hr-1hr 20mins to get home.

On the worst days, usually Fridays, or when it rained, it would take almost 2 hours.

The absolute worst was almost 3 hours. But that was just one time.

My wife commutes from Mid-Wilshire to Whittier now and it's about 1hr 30m average for her.
